Talent development
Training centres & talent pathways
From neighbourhood pitches to the national teams: the verified programmes nurturing Jordan's football talent — and Amman's share of them.
Start in the neighbourhood
Street pitches and the schools championship are where talent first shows.
Academy or talent centre
Structured training with certified coaches builds the foundations.
Club youth ranks
FA-run youth leagues are the gateway to the professional game.
Pro football & national teams
From capital and governorate sides to the Pro League and national teams.
Prince Ali Centres for Rising Talent
Relaunched in April 2026: 65 centres nationwide for children born 2015-2016, including 15 in the capital governorate — 14 run with the Greater Amman Municipality, which provides the pitches and infrastructure (from Marka and Hashmi to Marj Al-Hamam and Shafa Badran). The original project produced stars like Mousa Al-Taamari and Ali Olwan.
Elite youth leagues
The FA runs elite U15, U17 and U19 leagues plus a new reserve league, contested by the capital's big clubs alongside licensed academies. The new season opens with the elite U16 league on 31 July 2026, starting with Al-Jazeera vs Al-Wehdat.
Official academy licensing
The FA licenses private academies — requiring company registration, proper pitches, safety standards and schooling follow-up — and licensed academies such as Roa Al-Mustaqbal now compete in the elite youth leagues alongside pro clubs.
School of Sport Sciences — University of Jordan
Founded in 1979 and based at Al-Hussein Youth City, it trains coaches and PE teachers through bachelor's to doctoral programmes covering team-sport coaching, football included.
Schools Football Championship
An annual FA–Ministry of Education tournament; its second edition reached 256 schools across ten districts, with coaching workshops for school trainers.
National Goalkeeping Academy
Launched under the FA's talent strategy, selecting 12 young goalkeepers from across the governorates in its first intake.
FA Talent & Youth Development Programme
A national plan through 2029: a gifted-players academy with weekly regional training, and youth national teams for boys (U17/U20/U23) and girls (U17/U20) alongside the senior women's team.
Key facilities in Amman
Amman International Stadium
Opened in 1968 as Jordan's first international-standard stadium, inside Al-Hussein Youth City. Now seating 17,619, it is the national team's main home and hosts Al-Faisaly and Al-Jazeera — the stage of Jordan's historic first World Cup qualification.
King Abdullah II Stadium
Jordan's second-largest stadium, opened in 1999 and renovated in 2007. Al-Wehdat's fortress, also used by Shabab Al-Ordon last season, and an occasional national-team venue.
Al-Hussein Youth City
The heart of Jordanian sport since the 1960s: founded at King Hussein's initiative with its stadium opening in 1968, today housing pitches, halls and pools plus the University of Jordan's School of Sport Sciences.
A new 40,000-seat stadium
In early 2025 King Abdullah II directed the building of a new 40,000+ seat international stadium east of Amman within the New City project, alongside upgrades to Al-Hussein Youth City.

Club investment & sponsorship
Jordanian football is becoming an economic sector: privatisation plans, investment arms and major sponsorships — with Amman's giants at the centre.
A league named after its sponsor
The Pro League has carried the Manaseer name since 2010, when the first sponsorship deal was worth JD 1.5 million.
Clubs on the road to privatisation
A national club-privatisation project announced by the FA in 2025, with a government committee chaired by the Minister of Youth drafting its framework.
Capital clubs' sponsorships
Umniah has backed Al-Faisaly since 2017, joined by National Energy Group in 2025, while Al-Wehdat's youth ranks are sponsored by the Regional Logistics Support Company.
A market worth millions
The Jordan Economic Forum (2026) valued the league at about €31 million and urged opening club management to corporate investment.
Jordan's first club investment arm
Al-Hussein Irbid launched NIDS, the first investment arm by a Jordanian club, with plans for a sports investment fund and international youth partnerships.
Free broadcasts, state support
League matches air free on Jordan Sport TV, and the government exempted the FA's sponsorship, broadcast and ticket revenue from sales tax.
Sponsor local sport, reach real audiences
Backing a youth team or a neighbourhood tournament in Amman builds genuine brand presence in the community.
